2001 Yamaha R1
aka "Smokeshow"
A former client of ours brought us a 2001 Yamaha R1 that had been left in a shed for a few years. They said "work your magic" and after agreeing on a price range, we got started on it.
It wasn't running, barely rolled, and smelled like gas. Discovered the gas tank had been previously damaged and was underneath a lot of body filler. The tires were dry-rotted, cracking, and hard as plastic. The plastic fairings were damaged and mounting points were broken off. The seat was ripped and the entire bike needed a lot of love.
We got it disassembled and the engine running in about 4 hours. New fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel filter, and gas tank. Added a new battery, completely new fairings, new tires, and new lights. Custom rear seat delete/cowling and a totally unique one-of-a-kind paint job, and we have "Smokeshow".
Check back to see our progress.
